FREE OUTDOOR CONCERT ANNOUNCED FOR RIDING MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
Manitoba’s own Doc Walker and Sierra Noble to headline
Manitoba Homecoming 2010 and Riding Mountain National Park are working together to host a free outdoor concert headlining Doc Walker and Sierra Noble on August 21, 2010 in Wasagaming.
Juno and multi CCMA award winners Doc Walker along with Sierra Noble who recently performed at the 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremonies will be hitting the stage at 6:30pm in Clear Lake.
"Live entertainment and special events continue to be a park summer tradition," said Kevin Bachewich, Marketing & Promotions Officer for Riding Mountain National Park. "Visitors will be able to enjoy music in a casual setting and there is plenty of open space for a view of the stage in Manitoba’s premier tourism destination”.
“There’s nothing like enjoying great Manitoba talent on an outdoor stage,” said Kevin Walters, Executive Director, Manitoba Homecoming 2010. “This concert will definitely be worth coming home for!”
Exceptional music, unexpected discoveries and experiences will make up the 2010 summer season in Riding Mountain National Park which is celebrating 125 years of the founding of Canada’s first National Park.
Some of the other upcoming summer events include Canada Day with a citizenship ceremony, mixed with cultural and local entertainment (free entry); July 17th Parks Day (free entry); July 24-25th Clear Lake Celebration Weekend; and August 6-8th Wasagaming Weekend. In addition to the August 21st concert, the Wasagaming community plans to host several activities during Homecoming weekend including the annual Boo in the Park event celebrating Halloween in summer.
