MANITOBA HOMECOMING 2010 CONCERT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

The kick off to summer concert will take place on Saturday, July 3rd on the Scotiabank Stage at The Forks and will include a visit by Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh.
 
Schedule of performances to include:

3:00 pm - Afternoon Homecoming/Retrouvailles Concert

6:00 pm - Evening Bilingual Homecoming/Retrouvailles Concert

This free concert will not only continue the year-long Homecoming celebration but will spotlight Human Rights and specifically the Canadian Museum for Human Rights that will become one of Canada's feature destinations when the Museum opens.
 
Concert goers will have a chance to learn more about human rights initiatives through the “Human Rights Village” that will feature displays from a variety of NGO’s that are involved in the protection and promotion of human rights in Canada and around the world. Attendees will also get the opportunity to see the Queen unveil a cornerstone at the site of the Canadian Museum for Human rights.

Ten thousand concert attendees will receive complimentary human rights star pins as a reminder to take action to promote human rights in the years leading up to the opening of the museum and beyond.

Following the Queen’s visit, the celebration will continue with a bilingual concert which will be filmed by Rivard Productions and aired on TFO later this year.

The day begins at 2:00 pm with the concert running from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm. The Queen's visit is expected between 5:00 pm & 6:00 pm.
