What a great concert Saturday night’s 2010: The Concert was! The kick off event for Manitoba Homecoming 2010 and Culture Capitals of Canada 2010 was a mélange of Manitoba talent showcased by our Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. I loved that all the different performers gave us just a taste of their talent, allowing more entertainers to perform in one show than we usually get to see. The evening’s performers reminded me that there is entertainment for every taste and budget available in town all year long. I thought it was fitting that the hosts represented Manitoba’s two founding communities that are finally becoming mainstream – Aboriginal and French. Looks like 2010 is going to be a lot of fun for those of us who live here, and for those who will be coming home to visit.
